Temporary Local Rules
Traveling Irrigator for Fairway Watering. Appendix 1 -7a and b.
If the ball strikes any part of the large drum containing the hose or the sprinkler head, the stroke is cancelled and the player must play a ball without penalty as near as possible to the spot from which the original ball lay or if played from the tee the player may tee the ball. Appendix 1 – 7b.
The irrigator is a temporary immovable obstruction if it interferes with a player’s stance or the area of intended swing. Relief under Appendix 1.-7a as follows:
If the ball lies in under or behind the Drum so that any part of the drum intervenes directly between the player’s ball and the hole and is on the line of play, relief may be taken as follows. The point on the course nearest to where the ball lies must first be determined that, (a) is not nearer the hole, (b) avoids interference (c) is not in a hazard or on the green. The player must lift the ball and drop it, without penalty, within one club length of the point so determined on a part of the course that fulfills the above (a) (b) and (c).
Pod Type Watering Equipment
If the ball strikes any other watering equipment it is deemed “rub of the green” and the ball must be played as it lies. No other relief is available other than as a moveable obstruction. 24-1 If the pods or hoses can not be moved they may be treated as immovable obstructions under rule 24-2 as above.
Aeration Holes
At times the course may be subjected to aeration of fairways and rough. Should your ball come to rest on an aeration hole during that time, the ball may be lifted, cleaned and dropped as near as possible the spot where the ball lay, not nearer the hole. The ball must first strike a part of the course through the green, not in a bunker or hazard or green. If the ball is on the green the ball may be placed at the nearest spot no nearer the hole.
Embedded Ball
When in play the embedded ball Rule applies through the green.
Penalty for breach of Local Rules
